3. How can I try on the gown?

One of the drawbacks of ordering dresses over the internet is the inability to try them on. Many of our customers have tried on similar gowns or the actual gowns in their area and for various reasons (cost, sales tax, etc.) have chosen not to order the dress from the store where they tried it on. If you have tried on similar styles to dresses featured on our web sight, chances are you will be happy with what you have chosen to order.

5. How can my bridesmaids place an order?

Once your wedding party has decided on the dress to wear you'll need to have each of the attendants have their measurements taken and compare them to the manufacturers size chart to determine the best size for them (Be advised that alterations will be needed for a perfect fit).

Once they've decided on their sizes you'll order the dresses online and all the dresses must be ordered together to ensure that all the dresses will be from the same dye-lot. All dresses will then be sent to a single address or if you prefer we can send the dresses individually (see shipping information for pricing).

But how do they pay for their dresses?

All the attendants will pay you for their dress and you'll be responsible to order the dresses and make a single payment for them.

6. How much time before my wedding should I place my order?

As much time as you possibly can.

Normal delivery can take up to 4 months (16 weeks) and don't you want a little breathing room if something should happen.

Unfortunately, we can not control the manufacturer, UPS, etc. and such there is the slight chance of something being damaged, etc. So, you'll want time for that and also don't forget about alterations. Most places will want between 2 to 4 weeks to alter your dress.

This all said and done, we'd like to have 6 months before your wedding but we understand that sometimes circumstances don't allow that. It is possible with some manufacturers to get your order in as little as 8 weeks (with rush and shipping charges) but again the more time available the better.

Veil orders usually take much less time. The standard veil order is from 4 to 6 weeks.

7. Why is KDBO so safe?

Safety in Numbers: When you shop at KDBO, you'll be one of millions of people who have safely shopped on the internet and with us without credit card fraud.
Safe Technology: We use a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) for all transactions.  This is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet.

Still don't want to use your credit card on the Internet?

No problem. Just fill out our order form online. Enter only your card's last five digits and its expiration date. Once you have fully submitted your order, you will be contacted with a phone number that you can use to call in the rest of your card number.

Or mail us a check or money order with the signed contract. Be aware this may delay your order 7 to 10 days while we wait for the check to clear.

8. What is your quality control?

Once we receive your order from the manufacturer, we will inspect it for the correct style, color and size . Almost all dresses come from the manufacturer in pristine condition, but every so often one slips through quality control and gets delivered to us. Gowns in garment boxes may be wrinkled and flaws may be difficult to detect prior to pressing. If by the unfortunate chance the customer receives a flawed garment please contact us immediately.

All dresses sold through KDBO are guaranteed to be defect free. Once you receive your order you'll have 48 hours to inspect the order and contact us if you should find a problem. If the damage warrants a return you'll be issued an return authorization # and you'll be required to send the gown back for replacement and/or repair.

10. What about sales tax and shipping?

If you do not live in California, Colorado (or if we will be shipping the gown out of state), you will not be charged sales tax - locally that is a savings of $82.50 on a $1000.00 wedding gown.

Shipping by UPS Ground is $15.00 for wedding gowns and $12.00 for bridesmaid dresses or veils. For bridesmaid dresses, if we ship the dresses to one address there is no shipping charges, but if you'd like us to ship the dresses to individual addresses we charge $12.00 for each additional address.

11. What if I need alterations?

Yes, you'll probably need alterations of some degree. The dress you ordered is not made to your exact measurements and alterations are required 99% of the time. Alterations can be done locally by an seamstress (check your local phonebook under "alterations" or "tailors").

Average cost of alterations for our brides locally is about $200. You can save money by not going through a bridal shop for alterations. Local seamstresses that work independently of any shop are usually the most reasonable. However, be sure and ask for references!! Don't just trust your gown to anyone.

Most women need to have a hem, the sides adjusted for a perfect fit and bustles to hold up the train during the reception unless you have ordered a dress with a detachable train.
