10+ YEARS

Over 10 years ago, I wrote my first blog post. Since then, I've authored books, had kids, traveled the world, found Trish and blogged about it all.

New Puppy

Abbie and Jack are two of the happiest kids in the world today. Grammy (Julie's mom) flew into town last night and brought a new puppy with her. Abbie has named her "Cookie" and she's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She's 12 weeks old and already knows how to "go in the grass" and fetch things you throw for her. Thanks Grammy!

Cookie

BTW, I did notice (and ignore) the following note on Flickr's homepage:

Remember! Flickr Terms of Service specify that if you post a Flickr photo on an external website, the photo must link back to its photo page.

WTF? I guess they don't like the lightbox thing, eh? ;-)

Cute puppy. I was comparing photo hosting sites for my photos from a trip to Europe. I went with smugmug in the end. Unlike Flickr, now Yahoo, they are able to integrate with Google maps. They don't have as many restrictions in their terms either. I added GPS coordinates to many photos and can see them on a google map, or export to google earth.

This page has a good overview of the available sites.

If anyone reading wants to signup for smugmug, here is a $5 coupon code: GaWA0eBG6Bkzg

My parents own a Cavelier that's 12 years old now, and I can you that if you are looking for a friendly, easy-going, people (and child!) loving heart-softening dog, the Cavalier is a good choice. Take good care of the puppy and she will give you back very much! BTW I don't know if you have the opportunity to go to obedience training with the puppy, but if you do, please attend it. Both your family and the dog will benefit from that.

Hey Matt - Pick up a copy of "Good Owners, Great Dogs" from your local bookstore. This is the book my wife (a vet) recommends to new dog owners - it's an excellent resource and a quick read.
