Flying into Seattle.
This is my kind of flight - there's no one on here.
Denver Sunrise! :-D
Oregon crews to join shuttle debris search.
Salem firefighters will use grid skills to find Columbia wreckage.
My mom and dad both told me that she was going to be heading out to do this, but I didn't think she'd get famous for it! Granted, Salem is a smaller town (100,000), but this is pretty big news to me and makes me extremely proud. Way to go Mom!!
THOMAS PATTERSON / Statesman Journal Effie Frazier (left) of the Salem district Bureau of Land Management fire crew, weighs her pack Thursday before heading to Texas to search for pieces of the space shuttle Columbia. Each member is permitted to bring 65 pounds, but Frazier's pack was 3 pounds too heavy. BLM surveyor Bob Aarseth holds the scale and crew boss Barb Raible (right) looks on. |
I finally got around to posting more pictures of Abbie and the rest of us. If you're a family member, you can find out why by visiting our private family site.
It's Mom's birthday today! Julie and I are going to fly them out to see us for a birthday present.
We received the postcard below from Kalin yesterday. It was such a beautiful picture of Montana that I could resist the urge to scan and post.
Mom and Dad are having a rough week - we received the postcard below from them. Kalin and I surprised them with a trip to Hawaii for their 30th wedding anniversary (November 16th). They never had a honeymoon when they originally got married, so we figured they'd enjoy one now! They said "the honeymooners are enjoying Hawaii." Dad was in the Navy and stationed at Barber's Point NAS; but lived in Waikiki in 1967-68. Apparently he's having a lot of fun re-living old memories.
Has a message board for the last name "Raible." Now we'll see how long it takes for someone to find this post.
Proud parents Matt and Julie are doing great and loving life! Abbie is an awesome little girl and is making this parenting stuff look easy. Of course, we've only had one night so far - so I'm sure she'll get rowdy here pretty soon.
