10+ YEARS

Over 10 years ago, I wrote my first blog post. Since then, I've authored books, had kids, traveled the world, found Trish and blogged about it all.

Google Ranking: Now at #20

I did a little navel gazing this morning after reading this post and its links. As of today, I'm the 20th result for "Matt" on Google. If I had the word "matt" in my domain name, I wouldn't be surprised, but the fact that I hardly have it anywhere probably means a lot of folks are linking to me. Maybe it's because my Google Number is almost to 50,000.

It's funny that in 1 and 1/2 years, I've gone from #213 to #20. Matt Croydon was #45 when I was #213. Now he's #30. How's that for a bunch of useless information?! ;-)

50000, is that all? My Google Number is way bigger and I don't even blog! ;-)

Wait until someone created a project named Matt. That's what I dislike about Google, everything gets technical. Groovy, Ant, Java, Windows to name a few. It's a good thing for us, but what about those other people who wants to find real ant (the animal), Java the island, Windows (that 4 sided thingy)? Google gets more mainstreamed, I reckon their search result is not for the masses.

[Trackback] Well, Matt Raible has inspired me to do some research about myself and the world's view of my importance/relevance. So here are my stats: 1. Google search for "Erik" puts me at 74. Not too shabby. Just behind Erik Thauvin(2),...

Yes - be careful about which BOF session you attend.

Do not attend the "Can't hold their liquor" BOF session. It is a bit messy and smelly.

Do not attend "Better than Band Camp" BOF session. Many here are looking to hook-up in a friendly sort of way.

Good luck and have fun.
