Cool FTP Tool

If you have a secure server setup like I do, I think you'll find that WinSCP (Windows) will make your life much easier.

I`d like to use WinSCP, but I`ve never had much joy getting it to work with my OpenSSH server.. anybody got any ideas? Filezilla has a SSH/SFTP mode which works wonderfully for both my home server and lets me FTP directly to sourceforge sites so I`m not losing too much sleep over it.

I'm just using the sshd that shipped with RH 9. I didn't do any setup at all - it just works! And it works with WinSCP.

Ah! I'm using Windows where it's harder to get sshd going.. who'd have guessed.

It is funny that you should mention WinSCP. I jumped up and down and did backflips for people at my last company to use it, but no, they wanted to pay for CuteFTP in secure mode. Anyway, WinSCP is a great program. I also just tripped on FileZilla and also fell in love with that program instantly. Which one to choose? That's the best part about free software you, you don't have to. One morning it is Coffee with WinSCP and the next morning it is Hot Tea with FileZilla. Yeah open source!
