Importing OS X Address Book into GMail

One of the problems with using GMail over .Mac is that I don't have easy synchronization of my contacts from OS X's Address Book. However, there is an easy way to get your initial set of contacts imported. Google is your friend - "export contacts gmail mac" brings up this howto. Here's the condensed version:

Very nice - GMail definitely has one of the best web interfaces I've ever used. Who says JavaScript sucks? wink

I agree, Gmail is a great webmail interface because the developers think outside of the box. The tendency of a developer is to look at what has already been done, and do it better. Google developers look at what has alreay been done and scraps all of it. Then, they think about what SHOULD be done, and they do that. This is exactly why I have connected so well with Eclipse 3.0. It is apparent that the interface developers continuely asked themselves "Why not?" Why can't an interface be intuitive and offer "information at your finger tips".

I used this utility and all it does is export the name and email address. If you have phone numbers or addresses, then this utility is _not what you want_. There is another utility that will actually export the entire contact record, called A to G. Use it instead if you have more than an email address.
