Off to OSCON

I'm off to OSCON - plane leaves in 2 hours - sheite - I'd better get going!! My dad is picking Bruce and I up from the airport this morning and then we're going to proceed to enjoy a good Oregon Micro Brewery and head for a hike in Silver Falls State Park. Conference starts tomorrow - should be a fun trip!

Matt, Mcmenamins is kind of a fixture in the brewery restaurant scene in Portland. If you have a chance, take a drive up to their 'edgewater' location..They've got a 'pub' golf course there, even if you don't golf, it's fun...You can drink some good beer and play a few holes of golf (all holes are less than 100 yards IIRC). My wife and I really enjoyed our visit to the place a few years back.

Yeah, I've been to Edgefield (I often call it Edgewater too) before and was thouroughly impressed! I might try to get a crew to run out there sometime this week. Rumor is that the lightrail goes out that way.

Doh, brain misfire on the Edgefield -> Edgewater thing. It's been awhile since I've been there (but was at OsCon last year). Mcmenamins also probably has the coolest bathroom ever (at least for us gadgety-mechanical types) at Cornelius Pass Roadhouse. The guys' bathroom has a huge maze of pipes, valves, gauges, etc. that all work when you flush the john. Something to see if you get a chance :)
