10+ YEARS

Over 10 years ago, I wrote my first blog post. Since then, I've authored books, had kids, traveled the world, found Trish and blogged about it all.

3° F

It was so cold this morning on the way to work, that when I sprayed the windshield with wiper fluid - it froze to the window and I couldn't see. Luckily, I was able to crank the defrost and only lost visibility for a few seconds. The car's thermometer read 3° F. My laptop's WeatherPop icon currently reads -1° F. Brrrrr...

Haha! The exact same thing happened to me. As a transplanted Southerner, this was an unanticipated and unwelcome development, as I had to pull off to the side of the road. Not an entirely pleasant experience when you are on 36 during rush hour and its 0 degrees. It could be worse though. It was -27 in Gunnison.

Dave, quit posting inflammatory messages like that! (pun intended) This time last year, I was also living in the warm and cozy Triangle. Never missed it so much until now!

Quit yer whinin... try Minneapolis in the winter... your weather is at least an anomaly, that's just the regular weather there.... Luckily I'm only there 4 days every other week, but NY is just as cold this week, dammit...

I did grow up in Montana which has similar weather to Minneapolis - meaning that it gets dark and cold around Halloween and doesn't get nice until May. The only time they ever canceled school was when it was -40F (-80F including the wind-chill factor). This last couple of days, it's been a pleasant 65-70 in Denver. ;-)
